We are a non-profit organization of volunteers in the Coachella Valley that offer assistance to immigrants.
Desert Support for Asylum Seekers strives to support people through the immigration process by offering legal support and referrals, housing and sponsorship, penpal, visitation coordination and commissary support for people in detention, fundraise and donate for people in a migrant shelter in Mexicali, and advocate to our elected officials on behalf of immigrant voices. We work closely with people detained in Calexico, California at Imperial Regional Detention Facility.

LEGAL & MEDICAL REFERRALS
We offer people in the immigration process legal support by assisting with referrals to pro bono attorneys, non-profit legal organizations and more. We also offer medical referrals for people in and out of detention.
We offer people in detention penpal and visitation coordination support by making connections to volunteers to detainee. We also support with commissary funds and social justice advocacy while people are in detention.
POST RELEASE ASSISTANCE
We offer post release support to immigrants by through housing and sponsorship coordination and basic needs assistance such as, food, toiletries and more. We also offer transportation and accommodations for reunification with family members and sponsors.
MEXICO SHELTER SUPPORT
Desert Support for Asylum Seekers also supports migrants in Mexicali shelters through fundraising efforts and donation collection.
